10 Habits That Makes You Age Faster

Aging is inevitable, it is also accompanied with various types of health problems such as obesity. Type 2 diabetes and  vascular diseases.

As you age your skin becomes thinner and dry. This leads to wrinkling, increased pigmentation (hyperpigmentation), loss of elasticity and dull skin.

When you look in the mirror and discover that your body shows earlier signs than you might expect. Several factors such as the environment, lifestyle and dietary factors can probably be the cause.

By properly maintaining your skin and overall health, and lifestyle change can help you prevent premature aging.

This article looks at top 10 habits that make your skin age faster.

Habits that will make you more confident

Alcohol is a known diuretic meaning when taken in excess, it causes dehydration. Dehydration reduces the skin's natural moisture, which automatically makes you pale and older than your age

Excess alcohol consumption also consumes important nutrients, especially vitamins A and C. These two vitamins are important for maintaining vibrant and supple skin.

In addition, excessive alcohol consumption triggers rosacea outbreaks. Studies also show that high alcohol consumption is associated with skin cancer.

A study of 2014, which is published in cancer causes and control, shows that high intake of alcohol, high intake of white wine or liqueur were associated with an increased risk of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer (1).

However, this does not mean that you can not enjoy a drink, drink only in moderation or occasionally drink.

2. Smoking

Habits that will make you more confident

It is a known fact that smoking is associated with hereditary diseases, infertility, bladder cancer, hypertension and lung cancer, but if none of this motivates you to dig this habit, perhaps vanity.

Smoking is also known to accelerate the aging process of the skin.

The toxic chemicals in cigarette smoke deprive your skin cells of oxygen, which leads to pallor, uneven coloring. It even stimulates the breakdown of collagen and causes loose and saggy skin.

A study published in the Journal of Dermatological Science in 2007 shows that smoking tobacco accelerates aging. So, if you are so concerned about your appearance, you should stop smoking (2).

Another study published in 2013 in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery shows the facial changes caused by smoking between smoking and non-smoking identical twins (3).

Whether you smoke or you spend time with a smoker, the smoke from cigarette is bad for the health of your skin.

By giving up smoking and avoiding second-hand smoke, you can restore the health of your skin and avoid premature aging

A 2010 study published in the SKINmed Journal shows that smoking gives up rejuvenating skin diseases and skin aging effects (4).3. Stress

Habits that will make you more confident

Stress, anxiety and constant concern takes a toll on the skin.

A study from 2012 shows that work-related stress can have a detrimental effect on DNA in your cells (5).

In another scenario, have you noticed that if you frown a lot you feel stressed out, which is not good for your appearance?

Over time, your facial muscle actually shrugs and corresponds to this movement. The ultimate result is wrinkles on the forehead, which makes you look much older than your age.

As mentioned above, stress plays an important role in initiating cascades of events that cause skin aging at the cellular level.

Stress accelerates the collapse of collagen, DNA damage, and also promotes the release of anti-inflammatory mediators (cytokines) that trigger premature aging.

A study of 2014 published in inflammation allergy and drug targets shows the brain connective tissue and how the skin reacts to the stress level by activating the endocrine and immune system and the negative effects of chronic stress on the health of the skin (6).

In addition, stress is also a risk factor for multiple chronic diseases such as hypertension, obesity and cardiovascular disease

You can not completely relieve stress, but you can manage it and reduce its effect.

4. Too little sleep

Usually, an adult needs at least 7 hours of sleep each night, and only one night of bad sleep can make you look and feel tired.

Poor sleep can even lead to dark circles and pockets under the eyes. Now imagine what little or no sleep over a few days can do to your skin appearance.

If you deprive yourself of sleep, you can cause skin damage in several ways.

First, it could increase your cortisol level, which can worsen the inflammatory states.

Secondly, it can lead to improper collagen formation, which leads to aging of the skin.

A 2013 study conducted by the Case Medicine Center, a university hospital, shows that sleep quality has a direct impact on skin function and aging (7).

This study shows that poor thresholds had increased signs of aging and slower recovery from several environmental stressors such as UV radiation or skin barrier disruption.

Burning the midnight oil can be fun, but the effect is that it makes you look older than your age.

It is important to avoid sleeping too long on one side of the face, as it could cause wrinkles and sleep lines.
5. Sunbathing

No matter how amazing the sun feels on your body, sunbathing or tanning is one of the worst things you can do for your skin.

Long-term exposure to excessive UV rays weakens the skin cells and blood vessels, ultimately causing a tanned, leathery skin. It can even cause hyperpigmentation, reduced skin elasticity and skin texture, making your skin prone to bruises.

In addition, the risk of skin cancer is significantly higher due to excessive sun exposure.

Excessive UV exposure is likely to be responsible for signs of facial aging, according to a study published in the clinical, cosmetic, and investigational dermatology journal.

To ensure that you protect your skin from excessive sun exposure, protect your skin by wearing a hat, covering clothing and using sunscreen that is broad spectrum, SPF 30 (or higher).

Also, remember to pack sunscreen throughout the year, especially on the hot summer days when you are constantly in and out of the pool.

However, if you have a sun-damaged skin, consult a physician for proper examination.

6. Sitting Lifestyle

Instead of being inactive and increasing your risk of obesity and other health problems, make a part of your daily life.

Exercise helps tone your muscles and provide proper blood flow to the skin, providing the necessary nutrients for the skin cells.

So you have a radiant and supple skin.

Exercise also helps to fight heart disease, keeps stress at bay, fights against brain fog, reduces inflammation and prevents other chronic diseases that occur with age.

Get out of your comfort zone and move. The American College of Sports Medicine guidelines recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week (9).

You can start with the activities you enjoy most - walking, swimming, jogging, cycling, dancing etc.

7. Keep resentment

If you never knew it, the unforgiveness can change you faster than you think.

Although most of us believe in forgiveness, we rarely practice it. Keeping resentment against anybody at any time is not good for your health and appearance.

Your inability to forgive adds more stress to your life that increases your level of cortisol. Cortisol is a steroid hormone, which leads to weight gain, hypertension and high blood glucose.

As mentioned above, stress leads to more frowning one of the most important causes of wrinkles in the forehead.

A study published in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine in 2005 reveals a correlation between unforgiveness and stress reduction (10).

Stress has been involved in various health problems and also contributes to aging.

Do not let grudge ruin your youthfulness. Forgiveness should be your slogan for a better mental and physical wellbeing.

8. Feeding on sugar

Habits that will make you more confident

A sugar-packed diet is a one-way card to obesity. Also, it can accelerate the skin aging process and can also make your skin dull and wrinkled.

How does this happen?

There is a process known as glycation in which sugar molecules are attached and damaged by proteins such as collagen and elastin. These proteins (elastin and collagen) are important to keep the skin flexible and smooth.

A 2009 study published in PLoS Genetics shows a correlation between an increase in age-related diseases and an over-consumption of sugar (11).

It is remarkable that sugary drinks can lead to obesity, diabetes and heart attack.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health in 2014, consumption of sugary sodas can accelerate the aging process (12).

Eliminating sugar from your diet is not an easy task, especially if you have a sweet tooth.

However, you can try to avoid refined sugars and opt for natural fruits to satisfy your hot starvation.

Better yet, you can try out dark chocolate that is good for health due to its high antioxidant content.

9. Eat unhealthy food

It is a known fact that food has a direct impact on how the skin looks and the overall health of the body.

You really need to pay great attention to your diet if you want to delay your aging process.

Inflammatory foods such as magarin, red meat, white bread, sugary and processed foods should be avoided, at least to the minimum. These foods can cause inflammation that will ultimately accelerate aging.

You should eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as linseed, flax seed oil, avocados, olive oil and salmon. These foods help combat inflammation to prevent chronic diseases and keep your skin radiant and supple.

You should also bring fresh fruits and vegetables into your diets. Most fruits and vegetables are rich in minerals and vitamins such as zinc, selenium, beta-carotene and vitamin C, which help in the production of collagen.

Also do not forget protein rich foods, such as low protein intake, can cause tears, blinking, and cracks in the skin. Protein-rich foods include eggs, lean meat, poultry and legumes.

Very importantly, say no to junk and try to prepare your meal. The unhealthy amounts of sodium, fat, and cholesterol in junk foods are not good for your overall health including your skin.

Finally, do not underestimate the power of hydration. Drink enough liquid to prevent dehydration and enjoy younger looking skin.

10. Wrong skin care

If you want to have a healthy and flawless skin, it is sensible to follow a proper skincare routine.

Different types of skin adapt to different skin treatments, so it is necessary to know your skin type and the type of treatment that is suitable for your skin.

Regardless of your skin type, try to wash your face twice daily as well as after the workout or whenever you sweat.

Sweating causes skin irritation and can cause skin problems such as eczema. By gently washing or taking a suitable bath, remove dirt, makeup and other substances that can cause skin irritation.

Very important, do not go to bed with your makeup. The chemicals in the make-up can block the skin pores that lead to aging skin. And also, minimize your makeup if you want to prevent premature aging.

Also, make sure that your skin gently at least once a week to get rid of dead skin cells. Moisturize your skin for a youthful look.

Endeavor to use the right makeup products for your skin type.

Do not use conventional skin care products, as they contain sulfates, parabenes and phthalates - these chemicals have the potential to alter your hormones and accelerate aging.

7 Ways To Keep Your Vagina Vibrant

Vagina, just like other body organs, can atrophy when it’s not being taken care of, or put to proper use for that matter. In order to make your vagina feel and behave young, here are the seven simple steps to take: • Stay sexually active: Just as is the case with any body part, the vagina is a “use or lose it” organ. According to an expert in female sexual health and vaginal rejuvenation, Dr. Karen Boyle, as a woman ages, she begins to lose fat in the vagina areas, such that the vagina can start to sag. What to do? Stay sexually active. You need to get stimulation and increased blood flow to that area, otherwise, the tissue and muscle can change, Boyle says. Blood flow through sex and orgasm will help in keeping it lubricated. Plus, if you are not worried about pregnancy, your partner’s semen may have an anti-aging effect because of the hormones, fatty acids, and anti-inflammatory compounds that semen contains. • Switch sex positions by mounting your man: Sex experts ...
