An Ikeja High Court was thrown into confusion on Thursday after an unnamed witness collapsed and died in the court shortly before the testimony before Justice O.A. Olayinka.
The news agency of Nigeria reports that the deceased, who was in the late 1930s, had been called to serve as a witness in a land dispute.
"Before the case was called to the trial, he began to cough and pant, and had to leave the courtroom.
"He vomited a lot of blood and the people around him were afraid to get close to him.
"He collapsed in the corridor of the courtroom and a medical team came into a hospital car to take his body away.
"His lawyer informed Olayinka of his death and she immediately end the proceedings for the day," said a witness.
