Anthony Joshua To Be Immortalized, Stadium And Street To Be Name After Him

After defeating the Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko, Anthony Joshua is honored by the Ogun government, the state where his parents are from Nigeria.

Majority leader of the State House of Assembly Yinka Mafe says he will move a motion in the state legislation to move to the Sagam International Stadium, renamed Anthony Joshua Stadium, and the popular Cinema Street in Sagamu renamed Anthony Joshua Street.
Of the two, the road is the most important because its family owns almost half of the land and property on one side of the road.

The cinema, from which the street takes its name, was built by his great-grandfather Omo-Oba Daniel Adebambo Joshua in the 1950s and is one of the oldest such facilities in the country.
Mafe joined hundreds of Sagamu youths to see the fight in an open-air viewing event hosted by the Sagamu Youth Congress and was enthusiastic about the electoral participation and outcome.

"We are proud of what he has achieved as the son of Sagamu and we will be happy to do our own piece to show our appreciation and support for him," Mafe said.
